About Us

My wife and I have been passionate players of all kinds of board and card games for many years, and we have also ventured into the world of role-playing games. Our private game collection now includes more than 800 titles – and, of course, it continues to grow.

I discovered my passion for games at an early age. Board and card games were already a regular part of my childhood and teenage years and later became an important part of my free time. At some point, I came up with the idea of turning my enthusiasm for games into a profession.

In January 2002, I started a small mail-order business at this address. Initially, the games were offered through a simple website and on eBay. Customers who wanted to place an order still had to send an email. At the beginning, my range consisted of just around 100 carefully selected games – including titles from Kosmos Verlag, Hans im Glück Verlag and Doris & Frank. Many of my personal favourite games came from these publishers.

Having successfully studied computer science, setting up my own online shop seemed like a natural next step. What had started as a hobby gradually became my profession.

During the first few years, I ran the business alongside my regular work, with orders being processed practically from our own living room. As demand grew, so did the workload. My parents and, later, other family members supported me along the way and played an important part in helping Milan-Spiele grow into what it is today.

What started as a small family business has since grown into an established specialist games retailer with its own warehouse and office facilities and a team of ten. And even today, family members remain closely involved in Milan-Spiele. So although the company has grown considerably since 2002, it has retained an important part of its family-business character.

Today, our shop offers more than 9,000 products from over 1,000 publishers – and the range continues to grow. More than 1,000 exciting new games are released every year, and we do our best to make the most interesting titles available to you as quickly as possible.

What is particularly important to us is that we are not just retailers – we are passionate gamers ourselves. We know the fascination of great board and card games from our own experience and continue to enjoy our hobby in our free time. That's why we don't simply want to offer you as many games as possible. We want to help you find the games that are right for you and your gaming group.
